Learning Java

When I started my IT journey, I was told I needed a basic computer language knowledge.  All of my research told me to start with either Java or Python, as they are not only the most popular but also the easiest to learn.  I recently completed an Intro to Python class a few months ago, and now I am starting to learn Java in my current class. The first thing I did was read a lot of tutorials. While this gave me a good overview, I am a person who needs to actually do things to learn; just reading doesn’t help me much, so I went straight to the Oracle website to download the JDK at Java Downloads | Oracle . Once this was completed, I then tried multiple IDEs before I decided I liked the Eclipse IDE best.
